"Lake Almanor is one of my favorite places in California. Away from the hustle and bustle, it is serene, great for swimming, boating, and there are a lot of wonderful things to do in the area. If you want a rental, a great place to consider is in the Lake Almanor Country Club--on the peninsula. That is gated, great for kids, has private beaches and tennis, golf etc. It is only about 45 minutes from Lassen Volcanic Park as well and you have great views of Mt Lassen from the lake!"
